The Vinyl Production Board

Start filling production gaps with short runs for
turn arounds to keep your time optimized and independent presses running.

With the headache of production delays caused by lack of material, a hold on stickers or jackets, or other pauses continuing through 2022, the Vinyl Record Manufacturers Association (VRMA) was inspired to partner with MerchFriends, the community for music merchandisers, to create a solution for vinyl production gaps.

The Vinyl Production Board is a solution to production gaps in vinyl pressing plants and an opportunity for small-quantity clients to jump in line if they are ready to go.

Claim the Job

When the form is submitted by a potential client, it’s instantly posted to the Production Board Slack channel.

Communication between vinyl plants can occur within the Slack channel thread and can be checked off with emojis upon claim.

Once claimed, the job is checked off and the manufacturer can continue on with the provided customer contact information to process the job.

FAQ

  • Any group (Artist, Label) with all pieces of production readily in hand. The submission form was built carefully to limit requests to a maximum quantity of 2500 pieces and requires all information and pieces guaranteed in order to be submitted officially. Please note: many plants do have a minimum of 500 pieces.

  • The production board is made for vinyl manufacturers who can complete and distribute runs of 2500 pieces or less. There is no obligation to take jobs off the board in any regular interval - it's a way for small simple jobs to jump in line if they are good to go.

  • Pressing Plants wishing to access the channel for project bids to claim business can join in two ways:

    1. Monthly Membership to MerchFriends - Join Here. You’ll also receive the benefits of being a MerchFriends Member!

    2. One Time Fee of $500. - Submit here.

  • Submissions for request of pressings are free to submit.

  • You can access the Vinyl Production order form here.

  • Thanks for your submission! We have dedicated staff monitoring the Vinyl Production Board to expedite claims. If you do not hear back from any plants about your project within 30 days, please resubmit your ticket.
